I'll think of something later. Maybe.

Just gonna remind every aspiring or beginner writer on here from personal experience to NOT participate in any “Pitch Contests” or even “fan-casting” rn. Hollywood studios do not have ideas w/o writers. Don’t ever let them take yours for free. #WGA #writersstrike pic.twitter.com/i88O5Hmo1S — Nicole Nichelle (@alamanecer) May 2, 2023ALT

THIS^^^

And if you do get paid for your ideas/writing during the strike, that is considered scabbing and you will be barred from the WGA for life, as per this email from the Blacklist:

And, because a lot of people don’t understand this bit, this is about you selling your ideas or writing to US-based TV studios or movie studios who are part of the AMPTP. There is no strike against book publishers. Nor audiobooks, graphic novels, or poetry publishing. Or just writing.

Read the above from the WGA.

Oh ok. Childhood memory unlocked.

When i was a little kid, i had a “4d puzzle” of new york city.

You built the cardboard jigsaw base, then the foam island, and then you had plastic buildings and bridges.

And it had instructions to place the buildings in chronological order, as well as a timeline, hence “4d”.

And i just fucking remembered. In 2001 on the timeline a step was “remove buildings #xx and #xy (World Trade Centers)” with no other explanation.

And as a kid i had no clue what that meant, but looking back on it my puzzle really just told me “alright kid, do a 9/11” and i, age 5, went along with it.

Congrats on having by far the funniest tags on this post so far.

This is comparable to “what if JFK’s head just did that”

Hey there,

Not sure if you've heard, but the employees at Powell's City of Books in Portland are sharing a petition to get Powell's to pay them fairly.

Seems pretty pathetic that an establishment that is considered iconic, a destination for so many visitors, won't treat their employees as a valuable part of that reputation.

Anyway, I'm sure it'd do nothing but help their cause if could give them some support?

To make sure another book store doesn't go down in flames.

There’s a lot going on in that little critter’s head right now.

1. Power move.

2. Why do people whisked away to magical worlds just automatically believe the first creature that tells them what side the person needs to help? Where’s my isekai where the MC slowly finds out they got in with like the deranged zealots and are part of the evil faction, and not the plucky rebels?

I think about this comic once per week. It’s funnier then anything I can conceive of. Mastery.
